Greetings Folks!
Wow it is November!
I had a wonderful autumn, the boys are getting big. Running and talking like crazy. Whew!
Audrey is a joy. Lost her first baby tooth. Seems like she just got them. Time flies they say. They are not joking!
Felicia keeping her troops at the high school in line. The troops at home also.
Made my Village Vanguard debut w/ the mighty Buster Williams and a his great band w/ Steve Wilson and George Colligan. Talk about a good time!!
Explored w/ Andrew Hill trio w/ the great John Hebert in Spain. A total inspiration! Look for more of the trio!
Rode the wave with the Turbanator Dr. Lonnie Smith at the Detroit Jazz Festival. Woo hoo!!
Had a splendid time at the Algonquin Oak Room with Eric Comstock, Bill Henderson and Dean Derose. Along w/ bassists Chris Berger or Neil Miner we were grooving!
Speaking of Dena check out her awesome new cd Love’s Holiday on Sharp 9. Also check out Conference Call on Soul Note and Tom Varners Second Communion on Omnitone.
Went down south for a residency at the U of Tennessee. Warm folks and great music.
Debuted a new band at a JazzComposers Collective Concert in Sept. Calling it FIELD TRIP w/ Matt Shulman and Luis Perdomo. Look for it in your town.
Did a great series on Monday hit at detour. W/ quartet and other configurations. Fun fun fun !
Nice evening in Boston w/ Dominique Eade w/ Kevin Hays and John Lockwood.

Summer 2003

greetings and thanks for making a stop off the information highway to my new website.

thanks to the talented young bassist and computer wiz evan gregor for his invaluable assistance in getting this up. he rules!

well it is summer so i hope you are enjoying some well deserved R & R. here, i am enjoying seeing my kids frolic in the grass, pool and sprinkler. the boys are almost 15 months and scaling all of the furniture. my daughter audrey enjoys ballet, playing dress up, movies and drawing. (the website features her masterpieces!) my wife and i enjoying the art of grilling. very tasty tuna,shrimp and grilled vegetable delights thus far. of course fine beverages accompany our gastronomic journeys. check out, if you are legal of course, new zealand sauvignon blancs. hmmmm. tasty!
